Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

How does hyperbaric oxygen therapy work?

The earth’s atmosphere constantly exerts pressure on your body. During hyperbaric treatment, you breathe oxygen while the pressure exerted on your body is increased two to three times. This increase in pressure dissolves oxygen into blood and body tissues at a much higher rate than under normal conditions. The elevated oxygen level makes your body create new small blood vessels, enhancing your ability to heal injuries and infections safely and effectively. HBOT promotes healing injuries and infections safely and effectively.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy for non-healing wounds is one of several treatment options.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is effectively being used for the following medical purposes and conditions:

  • Slows cancer growth
  • Neurodegenerative diseases (NDD)
  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Oxidative stress
  • Inflammation
  • Bleeding
  • Scleral ischemia or melt
  • Autism
  • Nerve injury
  • Sprains
  • Simple fractures
  • Interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome
  • Compartment syndrome (increased pressure that causes serious muscle, nerve, blood vessel, and tissue damage)

Reduced oxygen levels

Our bodies depend on oxygen for survival. A lack of oxygen can weaken and damage tissue, cause premature aging, cause hair to thin and even affect the memory. When we age, our cells are starved of nutrients, but supplying oxygen to our cells can provide health, energy and vitality.

Increased oxygen levels

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy can work in areas where other options are simply ineffective, as a result it is improving the quality of life of the sufferer. HBOT can help in any condition where an increase in oxygen is needed, it even can be used in conjunction with other type of treatments.

What Should I Expect From Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?

Not sure what to expect from our Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy service? After completing a medical waiver, your vitals will be taken. Then, you’ll head back to the HbOT – a cozy chamber where you can comfortably sit up and work, or lay down and relax during your service. After you get in the Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen chamber, a staff member will help you place your oxygen mask on your face, make you comfortable with pillows or blankets, and then leaving you to enjoy your unique wellness journey. Then, the chamber will begin to pressurize. You may feel your ears pop slightly as you take your “dive,” but don’t worry! It’s not scary or uncomfortable. It’s actually very relaxing.

The chamber is fully pressurized in over ten minutes, then your clock begins! Whether you are enjoying Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for 60 minutes of service or 90 minutes of service, we’ll time it to begin de-pressurization after your scheduled and preferred time. Then, it will be another 10+ minutes to de-pressurize the machine.
